Anyone playing when it launches this week? I've got it pre-ordered for PC.

I'm curious for the post-launch reviews. I think I'll hold off until, at least, I am done with RDR2.

Then I shall do my best to give my post-launch impressions!

My early returns with it are:

It's really good.

There's going to be lots of "familiar" if you've played Fallout 3 and 4, but there are several variations on how things work. It didn't take very long to adjust.

The biggest variation, IMHO, is how VATS is handled (it's now real-time VATS). I think they handled it in the best possible way they could.

The second biggest variation, also IMHO, is how SPECIAL perks are handled. I think it's a much more strategic way of doing things than it was before. I like it.

Almost every player I've encountered has been respectful to enthusiastically welcoming. Some have even been helpful and/or in-character (like the guy that was offering trade services). Only one person attacked me, but you do little or no damage to someone unless they fight back. I honestly didn't see my health bar move, and he whacked me several times before moving on.

Honestly, outside of the bugs, it's a fun game. It's exactly what I expected it to be - an online version of Fallout 3/4 with some gameplay elements tweaked for the online experience.

And I expected the bugs, because this IS Bethesda. :D
